A deviated septum occurs when the thin wall (nasal septum) between your nasal passages is displaced to one side. In many people, the nasal septum is off-center — or deviated — making one nasal passage smaller.

When a deviated septum is severe, it can block one side of the nose and reduce airflow, causing difficulty breathing. The exposure of a deviated septum to the drying effect of airflow through the nose may sometimes contribute to crusting or bleeding in certain people.

A nasal blockage or congestion (obstruction) can occur from a deviated nasal septum, from swelling of the tissues lining the nose or from both.
 

May cause the following signs and symptoms:

• Obstruction of one or both nostrils
• Nosebleeds
• Facial pain
• Noisy breathing during sleep
• Awareness of the nasal cycle
• Preference for sleeping on a particular side

Nasal polyps are soft, painless, noncancerous growths on the lining of your nasal passages or sinuses. They hang down like teardrops or grapes. They result from chronic inflammation and are associated with asthma, recurring infection, allergies, drug sensitivity or certain immune disorders.

Small nasal polyps may not cause symptoms. Larger growths or groups of nasal polyps can block your nasal passages or lead to breathing problems, a lost sense of smell and frequent infections.

Nasal polyps can affect anyone, but they're more common in adults. Medications can often shrink or eliminate nasal polyps, but surgery is sometimes needed to remove them. Even after successful treatment, nasal polyps often return.

Common signs and symptoms of chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps include:

• A runny nose
• Persistent stuffiness
• Postnasal drip
• Decreased or absent sense of smell
• Loss of sense of taste
• Facial pain or headache
• Pain in your upper teeth
• A sense of pressure over your forehead and face
• Snoring
• Frequent nosebleeds

There is a thin line of difference between normal dizziness & vertigo. The most common causes of vertigo are benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and Menieres disease. BPPV is due to a disorder of our equilibrium sensor located at the inner ear. This problem can be caused by a sudden change in body position, such as turning over in bed. Menieres disease is characterized by deafness, ringing in the ears and occasional vertigo.

Pathya (Favor): Sweet taste, milk, ghee, meat soups, oil application on scalp

Apathya (Reduce): Spicy, sour and salty foods,exposure to cold breeze and sunbath, keeping awake at nights, over exertion, stress.

The sinuses are the air-filled cavities inside the skull that make up part of the respiratory system. A sinus infection can commonly result in face pain and headache. Causes of sinus congestion include the cold, flu, hay fever or other allergic reaction.

Is noise or ringing, buzzing, roaring, clicking, hissing sounds been continuously heard in the ears. Ageing, exposure to loud noise, ear-bone changes, Menieres disease are main causes to tinnitus.

Pathya (Favor) :Warm, light and easy digestible food, ghee, wheat, rice, green gram, egg plant, drumstick vegetable, bitter gourd, reduced talking.

Apathya (Reduce) : Frequent head bath, drinking cold water, exposure to cold wind, over exercise.

Tonsils & adenoids sample bacteria and viruses that enter the body through the mouth or nose at the risk of their own infection. Because tonsils and adenoids trap germs, they sometimes temporarily swell. Swelling may go away by its own, but sometimes medical treatment is necessary. It can cause problems like stuffy nose, mouth breath; snoring & troubled sleep; sore throat & difficulty in swallowing and ear problems.
